Biography

Kathleen E. Walters has been with Leeth & Gaglione, LLC since September 2019 and focuses her practice to civil litigation (personal injury, breach of contract, landlord tenant), family law (divorce, custody, support, adoption, guardianship), and wills and estates. Kat handles document preparation, including formation of domestic partnerships, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, private custody agreements and deed transfers. Kat also has significant experience in criminal defense, including DUI, theft, drug possession and related offenses, assault, disorderly conduct, underage drinking and traffic offenses, expungements, juvenile delinquency matters, dependency matters involving Children and Youth/Child Protective Services and in Protection From Abuse (PFA) matters.

Recently, Kat obtained a substantial settlement for her client following litigation of an auto accident case in the amount of $600,000. Kat has also won several cases on appeal to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, including a contractual dispute where Kat successfully overturned a trial verdict which erroneously found that a vehicle owner was entitled to $13,000 in damages for breach of contract based on a claim that an automotive shop did not properly install aftermarket parts. Kat has also been successful in federal courts, having obtained settlements for her clients in a civil action for false arrest and malicious prosecution in the Middle District of Pennsylvania and for her client in a dental malpractice case in District Court of New Jersey.

Kat received her Juris Doctorate from New York Law School, where she was also a member of the NYLS Moot Court Association. Prior to attending NYLS, Kat graduated from Rutgers College at Rutgers University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in French.

Kat has held memberships with the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Monroe County Bar Association, where she currently serves as a member of the Diversity Committee.
