A lot was happening in an East Hills parking lot on a recent Saturday in Pittsburgh. A group of people were reportedly in the parking lot when police showed up. Authorities had apparently seen a video on social media that prompted them to travel to the parking lot to see what was going on. They ended up arresting arrest a juvenile, who is now facing weapons and drug charges.
Police believe the juvenile was the person they saw in an online video, brandishing a firearm in the parking lot. They also claim that, upon their arrival, two men attempted to flee the scene. One of them was later taken into custody. One of the men was also accused of tossing a stolen firearm aside when police were chasing him.
The juvenile was released into the custody of his mother
The young man in question has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm, as well as possession of marijuana. After he and the other man were arrested, police conducted searches of all the vehicles that were present in the parking lot at the time. They are said to have seized numerous firearms and illegal drugs, in addition to drug paraphernalia.
Juvenile cases are processed differently from adult criminal cases
The juvenile justice system is part of the criminal justice system. Sentencing is always focused on rehabilitation rather than punishment. In all cases, every accused individual may seek legal support as early in the process as possible. It is typically the best way to develop a strong defense strategy.
